Reading poetry2: I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud (Daffodils) by William Wordsworth
Today, I read “I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud,” by William Wordsworth. The poem is full of beautiful and bright atmosphere. Thus, I love the poem at first sight. The poet represents a dreamlike scenery. He makes the poetic scenery vivid and charming through personifying daffodils and sparkling waves. As if I was invited to share his joy at the picturesque moment. This poem makes me come up with Chinese landscape poetry which rhetorically combining emotion with scenery. The enthusiasm for nature and life is alike whether in the western or eastern cultures.
Probably many poems describe the loneliness of solitude. But poem exalting the happiness and inspiration of solitude is the part very touches me.
I also learned many vocabularies about happy, for instance, sprightly, glee, gay, jocund. Today I am blessed to have read a wonderful poem.
讀詩2:I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud
今天讀了威廉•華茲華斯的「I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud」。
