Today’s breakfast
This morning, I ate a bowl of congee as my breakfast. It had been a long time since last time I ate congee as my breakfast.
Congee is one of typical Taiwanese breakfasts especially in agrarian society of Taiwan. Generally, we eat congee with meat wool, salty peanuts and fried eggs. Congee is a kind of healthy food. According to the Chinese traditional medicine, congee is very good for our stomach and intestine digestive system.
However, as the influence of globalization, dietary habit has been changed.
Nowadays people in Taiwan, especially young generation, rarely eat congee as breakfast. Perhaps sandwiches or breads are more convenient for them.
Today I ate a bowl of congee I had not eaten for a long time. I felt it was much delicious than the taste in my memory. As if it warmed and nourished my stomach.
今天的早餐
今天的早餐喝了一碗粥,
好久沒喝粥當早餐了。
粥在早期農業的台灣社會是很典型的台式早餐。
一般會加肉鬆、花生和蛋一起吃。
粥是很健康的食物,以中醫的角度而言,對腸胃特別好。
但隨著全球化的浪潮,改變了大家飲食的習慣。
現在的台灣人,尤其年輕一代,吃粥當早餐的人大概越來越少了。
也許大家覺得吃三明治、麵包比較方便。
不過今天喝了一碗久違的粥,覺得比記憶中好吃,有種胃被滋養溫暖的感覺。
