Some people think the Internet provides people with a lot of value information. Others think access to so much information creates problem. Which view do you agree with?
I thought the Internet provided us with a lot of valuable information and it helps improve our lives in many ways. This is a fact but there are many issues nowadays.
To make my opinion on this issue clear and convincing, I’d like to examine several different aspects of it.
The advantage of the Internet is speed of the information. When we want to know the latest news, we can just go to the Internet and get it right way. We don’t have to wait for a news program on TV or the radio. We also don’t have to listen to just one source of news. On the Internet, we can get news from different newspaper and different countries. In fact, my friend watches foreign news about the nuclear problem in Japan because Japanese media are under the control of government, and most of news does not tell use true facts. We can get information from different points of view. This greatly contributes to our understanding of current events.
In addition, most schoolchildren these days do their research on-line. They have access to more information than they could probably find in their school libraries, and they can get the information easily.
On the other hand, the Internet has several problems in terms of safety. For example, children can easy to communicate with adults and this makes cheap love issues. I could not believe this news but there are parents who sell their children’s naked photo online.
Considering both the advantage and disadvantage, I’m in neutral on this issue. The ability to get information from the Internet has improved our lives in many ways but it makes several problems in fact.
We need to find a way to secure children from online criminals and make a good environment.
