yukiusagi0408 : Looking for a Cat Allowed Room... (0)

My husband and I want to have a cat. He got a job at Tokyo and we're looking for a room which is allowed to have a cat. However, leases which is allowed to have a pet are ten percent. And many leases restrict pets to dogs. Most of the owners don't like cats because they make a scratch everywhere in a room. Naturally, rental fee is higher than usual because the owners need more money than usual to reform their room after lessee leaves the room. It seems that we have trouble finding a room...

yukiusagi0408 : Lease Agreement Trouble... (0)

Last week, I went to Tokyo and decided a room for rent.
The room should have been allowed to have a cat.
At least, a real estate agency and a room owner agreed that.
The room was small, but my husband and I decided to rent it because of being able to having a cat.
We paid application fee and we've been waiting for the result of examination.
Yesterday, our broker called me and said "I'm sorry that it seems that you can't be allowed to have a cat at that room. The room owner himself admit the agreement but it seems that the condo association board will reject it at the meeting which will be held on next Monday..."
What!?
I can't belive that...
Now we don't have a cat, but we want.
We thought we'll be able to have a cat in our new room...we dreamed of it...
We had to find a room again...so I'm busy again...

yukiusagi0408 : seishun 18 kippu(青春18切符) (3)

Do you know that?
I'm in Tokyo now. I came here from Kyoto by local trains as I wrote yesterday. I used seishun 18 kippu(青春18切符). This is sold at the price of 11,500yen during spring, summer and winter vacation seasons. This is five-ticket set of one day travelcard. You can get on and off the local train all day long, but you can't use an express train or shinkansen. You're allowed to get on local trains. However, if you're in Japan and you don't have much money and you have enough time, it's worth using.
However, I have an advice. Please don't use it under last-minutes travel plan. Because, sometimes trouble may happen and then train may delay...

yukiusagi0408 : My Husband Got a New Job!!! (2)

To my joy, my husband got a new job during a global recession! I'm so happy!!! He started to find a job since November, but employment offers already began declining then. His career advisor said job offers descended in 2009 and companies shifted from career hunting to new graduates in April... We felt it was really hard to change jobs under the circumstances. It seemed that he didn't have that much time left...
However, he finally got a new job a few days ago. His wage offer was lower than we expected but it was better than his current salary. He decided to change his jobs and we're going to move to Tokyo. I'm going to leave here for Tokyo to find our new flat within a few days.

yukiusagi0408 : Crab Soup Base (2)

My husband's parent sent us six crabs. We ate crab meat and a large amount of shells were left. I didn't want to throw them out directly, and I searched on the web about the way of reusing them. Then I found several articles of how to make crab soup base with crab shells. I decided to make it.
I had to saute them in the deep pot but crab shells were too much. I had to stir them up and down and this work was not easy because of the amount of shells. I should have separeted them in two part and I should have made it twice...
Finally I finished to make it and it tasted good. I iced it up in cube and I use it little by little. I add it for tomato sauce or curry sause as a hidden flavor. It makes cooking good! I think it's worth cooking.

I went to a cafe with my friend. It was located along a Kamo river and a lot of people stop there during their walk.
My friend herself runs a cafe. She often goes to tour of cafes for her job and I went along with her. She's five years younger than I and she has been a successful. I feel respect for her. She has excellent taste in furniture. And of course, she's good at cooking, making sweets. She selected the location near a famous department in the center of Kyoto city. The building was really old at first. However, her cafe is thriving and the owner of the building reformed the building and now it became clean.

yukiusagi0408 : Hate Excessive Commercialism (1)

Yesterday, I found fake Koinobori(鯉のぼり) when I went to a supermarket. Koinobori is an item for boys and its shape models carp(鯉(こい) means carp). Every family with boys flies them at their deck or at a poll in the yard until Kodomo no hi(こどもの日: May 5th).
What I saw yesterday were childish fake koinobori. I don't like them. Why are famous animation character depicted in them? Why are they sold at the candy section?
Some children may want them, but I think it isn't good for them. To buy these odd goods may destroy their sense of beauty. I hate such a commercial goods.

yukiusagi0408 : Bonus Total More Than Sales Total!? (4)

I read an article about bonus payment about Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc.It said that they paid $3.6 billion in bonus despite their sales total was $3.3 billion last year.Top earning staff received $33.8 million.Over 700 staff received more than $1 million each. They were mergered by Bank of America, and BofA asked goverment for public funds. It's unbelievable...

I recall that President Obama blamed bank managers on their big reward.Federal Reserve Chairman Bernanke accused AIG recently. It seems that bankers behavior is unacceptable for American with good sense.I'm relief to hear that. However, this is a difficult problem I think...I doubt top bankers goings-on, but they might just act according to the rule of capitalism.

Recently, a huge pachinko(Japanese pinball) hall was built near my flat.
They throw off strong light from their building to stand out at night.
I hate it!

It seems that their business is so successful.
It is said that a recession makes them busy.
Some people dream of making money at a stroke at times like this.
Of course, most of them lose money.

Yesterday, my friends and I talked about each other's wedding.
We have recently been acquainted with each other.
At that time, we walked around near a fancy Japanese-style restaurant where my wedding reception was held.
I said that my wedding place was near here.
Naturally, they asked me what's the name of the Japanese restaurant.
Well...
Let me see...

Oh, no!!!!!
Did I forget the name of our wedding reception place???
I can't believe this!!!
I only remember that the name uses three letter.
After a little, I remembered their name uses kanji '彌' as a last word.
But I was not sure...
I couldn't remember after 30 minutes.

And, several nameboard appeared.
One of them was the answer...
Hey, everybody! I found the nameboard at last....It was saami(左阿彌).

I never talk about it to my husband.

yukiusagi0408 : Elegant Places in Kyoto!!! (1)

Today, I went to two elegant places in Kyoto.
One was the Garden Oriental Kyoto and the other was Chorakukan(長楽館).

First one is a restaurant and a party place.
They use well-known Japanese-style painter Seiho Takeuchi's mansion built 80 years ago.
The building gives the flavor of high life of that age in Japan.
Their garden is carefully maintained, food is delicious.
Lunch time lowest menu is 1,320yen.
You can also use it as a cafe.
The price for a cup of coffee is 440yen.

Second one is a restaurant/cafe and a hotel.
The building is Renaissance style, rococo and art nouveau.
It was built by Japanese tabacco milionaire 100 years ago.
A cup of coffee costs 700yen.
I think it's a little bit expensive, but it's worth while.
This is an extraordinary place, you'll feel elegant.
Needless to say, the hotel bill is quite expensive.

Both are located near Kiyomizu Temple(清水寺).
Why don't you use them as a cafe?

yukiusagi0408 : Pipe Organ (2)

I completely forgot about a pipe organ concert in Kyoto Concert Hall yesterday.
I intended to appreciate it.
I should have bought a ticket in advance, then I couldn't forget about it!!
There's one of the largest pipe organ in western Japan.
I didn't know that till recently, and I've never been there.
However, it seems that it is rarely performed.
What a waste!
Next concert involving a pipe organ is...in late April.

Almost every concert hall in Japan has a pipe organ.
If they use it rarely, a portable one is enough.
A deluxe pipe organ must be costly to maintain.

yukiusagi0408 : Making Sweets!!! (0)

I made three kind of sweets with my friend at home.
Jam sandwich cookies, kinako cookies and chocolate fondant.
The first was kind of strange in the way of baking.
It baked in the frying pan, not in the oven.
However, it was difficult than we thought.
We had to turn over them, but cookie dough was becoming very soft and it was hard to do so.
We destroyed some pieces of cookies...
Taste was good, but we were tired of baking in the frying-pan.
So, we baked the left of the cookie dough in the oven.

The second was easy to make recipe, then taste was so-so.
Do you know kinako? It's soybeans powder.

Then, third was chocolate dessert.
I had made the same dessert a few days ago, so I tried another recipe.
This time, I choosed more conplicated recipe, but the prior recipe was better...
Yumminess isn't always proportional to the difficulty.

yukiusagi0408 : fantastic personーRyo Ishikawa (0)

Do you know Ryo Ishikawa?
He's a 17 year-old Japanese professional golfer.
Now he's very popular in Japan.
This year, he is invited to the Masters Golf Tournament and some other oversea golf tournaments.
It proves that his potential.
But this is not the only reason he has a high popularity.
He always speaks humbly in interviews.
He's sometimes asked same question from various interviewers.
But he always replies it politely.
He's a pleasant person.
I am not interesting in golf at all, but I'm behind him.
I think many Japanese dream that he'll win the Masters Golf Tournament in the future...
His name is worth to remember!
