A cold spell from late last month makes me a tad reluctant to do anything outdoors so I stick to work on my PC without going out for a drink. Is that cool?

Okay, let's focus on the main subject.
Thanks to the friends from abroad, a couple of my weakness in English grammar seems to be improving. They are the article and uncountable nouns. But still, I don't think I am good at them. So, I spared some time to brash up on them today.

Here are what I learned today. Yeah, they are really confusing for us to learn about.
---------------------------------------
Wrong 誤 / Correct 正

誤: They had difficulty in finding an accommodation in New York City.
正: accommodation

誤: A fair amount of money goes on an advertising and sales promotion.
正: advertising

誤: You'd better take out an insurance against fire and earthquake.
正: insurance

誤: We're carrying out a research to find medicine to cure diabetes.
正: research, a medicine

誤: It was a very hard work completing the project in three weeks.
正: very hard work
---------------------------------------

Here I have a question. Is it true that the following sentence is wrong.

誤: "I check the e-males before I go to bed."

If what I have learned about before is correct, the word "e-mail" is countable noun while "mail" is uncountable noun. So "I got three e-mails" is a proper sentence. That was all I had ever learned until when I had this information of the above example sentence is wrong.
I wonder why when it comes to "I check the e-males before I go to bed," it is wrong. According to the explanation by an English language expert I learned from about that today, in the case "e-mail" is placed after the word "check," we have to use "e-mail" as uncountable noun. Therefore "I check the e-male before I go to bed." is the right way to express.

Is that right?

I check the e-males before I go to bed."

以前、僕が学んだことが正しいのなら、"e-mail"は可算名詞であり、"mail"は不可算名詞。だから"I got three e-mails"は適切な文章。これが僕が学んできた全てです、上記の例文が間違いであるというのを知るまでは...
それがどうして、"I check the e-males before I go to bed."となると間違いになるのでしょうか。今日学んだ英語の専門家によれば、"e-mail"が"check"の後に来る場合は不可算名詞として使用しなければならない。だから、"I check the e-male before I go to bed."が正しい表現の仕方だということです。

そうなんですか?
