Have you ever seen the movie "Stand By Me"?
When all boys reach the age at which puberty begins, it seems like they began to crave some kind of adventure. It might be that it is the time for developing a sense of independence as a man.
As far as I can remember, it was when I was 11 years old, over the the 5th grade summer holidays.
I remember the feeling now. I felt -- how shall I put it? I couldn't sit still? I couldn't stand the situation? Anyway I wanted to be freed from things like homework, the cram school, culture lessons, and so on.
At that time, I had two friends with whom I shared the same feeling, Shuzo and Kazuyoshi(fictitious name). Shuzo was a hot-blooded sportsman. Kazuyoshi was a timid railroad nerd.
I might have fallen into the category described as a "good child."
One evening after the cram school's summer course, we talked about going on an adventure in the school's lobby.
