One of my proud things is that I have even teeth. A dentist said that your teeth alignment looked like the best example. However, it didn't passed through my children, especially my daughter. She often smiles. I like her smile, but one day I found that her teeth alignment wasn't as well as mine. In Addition, an adult tooth came out even though the child tooth was lost. I took her to the dentist and the he said that she needed to have braces on. He pulled her child tooth out first. Her adult tooth was left in an awkward position. It’s a double tooth.
Do you know how much does it cost for braces? It is said more than 500,000 yen because you can’t use any health insurance. In my daughter’s case, she is enough young to try a new braces called “toko kyosei” in Japanese. It means a base correction. Here’s a link to images of toko kyosei.

One brace cost 60,000 yen and she needed two braces. She will go to the dentist twice a month until her teeth alignment is neat. It will take about half a year and more.

One of my proud the things I am proud of is that, I have even my teeth are even.
A My dentist said that your my teeth alignment looked like is good best example.
However, it didn't passed through my children didn't inherit it, especially my daughter.
I like her smile, but one day I found that her teeth alignment wasn't as well good as mine.
We use "good" instead of well because you need an adjective here not an adverb.
In Addition, an adult a permanent tooth came out even though the child milk tooth was lost.
I took her to the dentist and the he said that she needed to have braces on.
He pulled out her child milk tooth first.
Her adult permanent tooth was left in an awkward position.
It’s a double teeth.

I'm very glad you made a lot of corrections.
The pictures you linked to on Google look like what we'd call a 'retainer' and they're pretty common here.
> The pictures you linked to on Google look like what we'd call a 'retainer' and they're pretty common here.
I wanted to know the word of it. Thank you very much!
I looked it up in my dictionary, but there was no entry unfortunately. Retainers are not popular in Japan yet, but I think they will become more popular in the future.
I've got 1 tooth that's just slightly out of line, and a dentist advised my parents that I needed braces to correct it.
I took a picture of it. https://picasaweb.google.com/115020047545912887550/Misc#5743848319180213106
Really? I didn't know that.
Do you know some Japanese people think that girls who have a double tooth look cute?
> I took a picture of it.
My daughter has the same alignment in her lower teeth like you. When the dentist saw this alignment, he advised me that she needed braces to correct it, but I didn't think she needed it. However, after a few years, she got a double tooth like the picture in the left and I believed that she really needs braces.
I don't think people in the US think that, though.
Her misalignment was with her baby teeth though, right? I don't think dentists recommend braces for baby teeth, here. They usually wait until all the adult teeth are in. :)
> Also in the USA, braces are often covered by dental insurance
Really? That's so good. I couldn't use any insurance for her braces.
> between straight teeth and dental hygiene
A dentist who I went to while in school said the same thing.
He said it must have been easy to brush my teeth because of the neat teeth when I had a cavity and went to see him.
A dentist once told me said that your my teeth are a model of proper alignment looked like the best example.
However, it that characteristic didn't passed through to my children, especially my daughter.
In Addition, an adult tooth came is growing/coming out even though the child tooth was not yet gone lost.
I took her to the dentist, and the he said that she needed to have braces on.
First, he pulled her child tooth out first.
That left her adult tooth was left in an awkward position.
It’s a "double tooth."
Do you know how much does it costs for braces?
It is said costs more than 500,000 yen, because you can’t use any health insurance.
In my daughter’s case, she is young enough to try a new kind of braces called “toko kyosei” in Japanese.
She will go to the dentist twice a month until her teeth are properly aligned alignment is neat.
It will take about half a year, or longer and more.
My teeth are badly aligned. In the 1950s it was uncommon for boys to have braces.
My sister, like many girls in the USA those days, had braces to improve her "marriage chances."
My daughter, whose teeth are perfectly aligned (lucky), still wanted braces when she was young because so many other girls had them!
Her children have nice teeth.
> Like all braces I bet she has trouble eating.
She takes them off when she eats and drinks something.
She has to put them for more than 14 hours a day, but she can take them off besides that.
> still wanted braces when she was young because so many other girls had them!
To tell you the truth, my daughter was very glad to put them on by herself because some of her frineds put on braces. She envied them. I felt relieved to hear that. I thought braces bothered her a lot.
In the old days braces were a real nuisance. It was difficult to keep teeth clean, and often caused other problems. After about year in braces the person then had to wear a "retainer" for another few months.
Your daughter is fortunate she can take the braces out to eat. Does she wear them at night? Might as well, if she can sleep with them in.
They sure are expensive, though.
> Your daughter is fortunate she can take the braces out to eat
Yes, I think so too.
> Does she wear them at night? Might as well, if she can sleep with them in.
The dentist is near my house, so if she has something wrong, she can go to see him anytime. On the other day, the brace hurt her gum and she complained it really hurt. The dentist shaved it a little not to attach her gum directly.
She enjoys wearing her retainers. She sewed a bag for the case to keep it.
One of the things I am proud of is that I have even teeth.
As a general rule, things cannot be "proud", because being proud is an attitude.
A dentist said that my tooth alignment looked like a textbook example.
However, it didn't pass down to my children, especially my daughter.
I like her smile, but one day I found that her teeth were not aligned as well as mine.
The word "well" is an adverb, and the corresponding adjective is "good". So, tooth alignment is "good" (because "alignment" is a noun), but teeth are aligned "well" (because "aligned" is a verb).
Exception: when "well" means "not sick", then it is an adjective. "I don't feel very well" means I feel sick.
In addition, a permanent tooth came out even though the baby tooth was lost.
He pulled her baby tooth first.
This left the permanent tooth in an awkward position.
Do you know how much does it costs for braces?
I believe the usual price formula for orthodontic work is the maximum you could possibly afford, multiplied by three.
The quoted price was more than 500,000 yen, because my health insurance doesn't cover any of it.
In my daughter’s case, she is young enough to try a new kind of braces called “toko kyosei” in Japanese.
She will go to the dentist twice a month until her teeth are aligned correctly.
or "until her tooth alignment is neat".
It will take at least half a year.
> my health insurance doesn't cover any of it.
This phrase is what I wanted to say.
Is there some kind of dental plan to make regular payments on the price Hana san?
> Is there some kind of dental plan to make regular payments on the price Hana san?
Unfortunately, no.
The braces cost 120,000 yen and I have to pay 3,000 yen per month for the maintenance for them.
I hope her double tooth will be aligned correctly.
ehhh? That is unfortunate... well, good luck with the payments Hana-san
One thing I am proud of is that I have even teeth.
"even" is okay, but "straight" is probably more commonly used for teeth.
I like her smile, but one day I noticed that her teeth weren't as straight as mine.
Option
I took her to the dentist and the he said that she needed (to have) braces on.
He pulled her child tooth out before starting her on braces.
Option -- clarifies what you mean by "first" a bit
Note: To me either "child tooth" or "baby tooth" sounds okay, but "baby tooth" is more common. "milk tooth" is also correct but it isn't commonly used. Either "adult tooth" or "permanent tooth" is okay.
Do you know how much braces cost?
In my daughter’s case, she is enough young to try a new type of braces called “toko kyosei” in Japanese.
She will go to the dentist twice a month until her teeth alignment is corrected.
Note: In the US a person specializing in this type of alignment is called an "orthodontist." Usually they are different from a dentist who pulls, cleans, and checks, teeth.
Wow. Six years?! I can't believe it.
An orthodontist is called 矯正歯科医(きょうせいしかい) in Japanese. Her dentist is just a dentist, so he recommended that I had to take her to an orthodontist when he pointed out her awkward position in the first time. However, he asked us to have an exam by his wife. She studied orthodontic dentistry for many years, but she hasn't had enough experience at the bedside.
His wife examined my daughter when her braces were measured. She doesn't work at his clinic regularly, so she usually takes his exam.
