Hello,

Do you ever use the word, "dinner" for a meal at noon?

We are usually taught that dinner is a meal that you have in the evening or at night. I know it has another meaning (or originally), "the main meal of the day". I found an information on the internet that people in countryside or on the south area of America are more likely to use "dinner" for a meal at noon because these people don't/ didn't have lights to light up in the dark and a meal at noon is/ was the main of the day.

I guess some peole (still) use this word for a meal of the day, but much more people use it as a meal in the evening or at night.

Do you ever use the word, "dinner" for a meal at noon?
If you have any information or stories about it, please tell me!
Thank you!
