Do you know how do you say " pretty/cute/lovely in Japanese? It's " Kawaii" Well, then how about " poor / pathetic/uncool" in Japanese? It's " Kawaiso" these two phase sounds very simmiar and the meaning is totally different. Jules always mess up these two Japanese. I bought a lovely summer dress at a charity shop few weeks ago. I tried on and asked him how did I look. He said " kawaiso" it sounded " he didn't like it on me because it looked miserable. Another story here, he calls Sakura( cat) " kawaiso princess Sakura" I asked him what happened to her. It meant be " kawaii" Please remember, there is a big differences between " kawaii" and " kawaiso"
