Please correct my English in the following sentences.
I like a cup of tea “with milk".
When I was a college student, I went to L.A. for the purpose of studying English.
At that time, I thought the tea “with milk” was very popular in the U.S.
However my host mother was surprised I had a tea “with milk”.
A cup of tea with milk is a very popular in England but the U.S.
Do you think my opinion is correct?

You don't need quotations around "with milk." You could also say, "I like to drink tea with milk."

However, my host mother was surprised that I drank had a tea with milk.
A cup of tea with milk is a very popular in England but the U.
You could say, "Drinking tea with milk is very popular in England, but it is not in the U.S.."
I like tea with milk though :)
