Seven driving schools in Seoul district has been caught by Fair Trade Commission
for fixing the price in collusion.

FTC, today, gave penalties worth of 1.8million Won to seven driving schools.

It is known that these schools fix/raise the tuition in collusion to make up for the loss which results from the obligatory education hour has changed from 25 hours into 8 hours.

Before this Licence Simplification system was introduced, driving schools charge
from 30,000won to 31400per hour for tuition.

However though the cartel, they increase the price from 54,600 won to 59,500 won level, which is increased by 97%.

FTC reported that driving schools and person who are related in Seoul association
have a meeting in a certain restaurant in Seoul and have a talk about how they would do about the tuition level.

FTC says, after the driving schools in Seoul district raise their tuitions, the nation’s driving schools increase their tuitions at the same time. they will strictly enforce monitoring system on cartel on tuition, they added.
