Today, I'd like to introduce you to one of the Japanese slang words, フロリダ (Florida).
This is used among teenagers. When they are about to leave from LINE chatting to take a bath, they type it. Let me explain about the word's origin. First, フロ(風呂)means taking a bath. Secondly, リダ is the abbreviation of 離脱する(りだつする).
離脱する means leaving from doing something or from an organization. However, Japanese don't different pronunciations of L and R so if you enunciate this word, don't intone and try to say it flat. Also be careful maybe most adults don't understand the meaning. I'm sorry for my stupid entry!
